Mariah was born into servitude 3,000 years ago as a Sanctuant in Utopia, Egypt. Her life was uprooted when she met the love of her life, Candor, who saved her family from a demonic attack. 

Realizing her fate was tied to a much greater power, Mariah agreed to be put into a magical sleep, and only awakened if Sirach survived the Great War. 

Three thousand years later, Mariah awoke in modern times to an unrecognizable world. She mourned her beloved Candor, when she learned he’d been killed by Sirach. She found that without the Mantamaji and Sancutants, the world was no safer than it had ever been.

Mariah fled to America to blend in and protect her son, Elijah, unaware that she is the mother of the savior, a child destined to hold the fate of humanity in his hands.
